Contribute to the Archive
Thank you for your interest in helping us grow the Charlan District High School Archive! Our collection is built upon the generosity of community members like you who wish to preserve the history and memories of our school. We are looking for items such as photographs, yearbooks, school newspapers, event programs, and other historical memorabilia.
How to Contribute
The first step in the contribution process is to send us an email. This allows our staff to review potential acquisitions and ensure they fit within our collection's scope. Please do not send physical items to the school until you have been contacted by an archive staff member.

Information to Include in Your Email
To help us assess your item(s), please include the following information in your email:
- The Item: A brief description of what the item is (e.g., "1985 prom photograph," "Trophy from the 1992 basketball championship," "1978 student newspaper").
- The Item's Age: The approximate age, year, or date of the item.
- Its Condition: A description of the item's physical condition (e.g., "excellent," "some water damage on the corner," "faded but intact").
- An Image of the Item: Please attach a clear photograph of the item. A simple picture from your phone is perfectly acceptable for this initial assessment.
What Happens Next?
After we receive your email, an archive staff member will review the submission. If your item is a good fit for our collection, we will contact you to discuss the next steps.
Please be aware that while a simple digital image is sufficient for now, a full, high-quality scan or the physical item itself may be required later to properly preserve and display it in the archive. We will guide you through this process.
